Wikipedia is good for limited information, like the age of a historical person, or when and where they were born, but sometimes gets that wrong, as well. Historical events? Not good at all, because it is filled with opinions and fiction.
Years ago, at an agency where I was employed, AI was experimented with on investigations. Not only was it a failure, but it was named after a boss who was a bigger failure.
The key in understanding AI, in my opinion and not shared by computer geeks, is that it is still a matter of garbage in/garbage out. It can only draw on the sources from which it is fed. Artificial is a key word, for me. It means not authentic.
The problem is that the creators of AI systems like Grok and ChatGPT need material to train the AI and they get most of it from the internet and historically, it’s pretty left biased. Hopefully that changes. Still, it just shows you that you can’t trust anything and need to have sharp critical thinking skills.
Grok is one of Elon Musks products, so I would imagine it will get better. I’m not sure about ChatGPT, I haven’t used it much, but I’m going to start so I can see if there is a difference.
