Strong breakdown of the definitional games people play. What gets me is how the "that wasn't real socialism" crowd never explains why every attempt slides into authoritarianism. I grew up hearing stories from relatives who lived through collectivization in the 70s,and the economic stagnation was real but nobody talks about how centralized planning just cant respond fast enough to actual market signals. Same incentive problems keep showing up regardless of the label slapped on top.

They don't want to admit that at its core, the collectivist ideologies are based on force in that this is the only way individual effort can be 'redistributed' to the collective.

We can fully expect the left to assert that at some point AI will be able to handle all the nitty gritty details of centralized control – it won't be able to – but you can wager that they will come up with this 'genius' idea at some point in the future – if not already.

“Arguing” with a couple guys on threads about this same thing. Unreal that youth of today don’t learn. And critiquing them leads to vulgarity and in civility and personal verbal attacks. Sad.

It is truly amazing that there are those that believe that this hasn't been thought of before – many times – and it's failed – all those times before.
